The United States of America, which as recently as two generations ago was a beacon of hope to the world, is now leading us all into the new dark ages. Only unlike the last dark ages, which after five hundred years blossomed into the Renaissance, this time the damage may be permanent. As we write, the thinking, creative, honest people of our world slip from view, pushed off the larger stage of communications.
